The Augusta Rec Commission was formed in 2023, as voted on by the Citizens of Augusta, KS to promote recreational programs to enhance the educational, social and physical growth within the City of Augusta.
The Rec Commission meets the 1st Wednesday of each month at 5:00PM at the Robinson Community Center at 1301 Helen Street in Augusta, KS. Meetings are open to the public.Meeting minutes and notices are posted online on Social Media as well as Locable. Rec Commission Website will be established at a later date (est 4th Quarter 2024)
The current Board Members for the Rec Commission are Seth Carey (Board President), Andrew Ebert (Secretary), Janae Mettling, Steve Gillies, and Trever Lockamy.

Currently, the Rec Commission is focused on building relationships with community partners and discussing some possibilities with local boards for various youth sports (basketball, baseball, etc). The commission is also working on strengthening our relationship with the School District and the City of Augusta. At this time, there is no specific timeline when the Rec Commission will be starting programs and activities.
